Rapper, Actor, and Activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz recently released a music video dubbed “Mr Yakubu” representing the artist’s opinion of how the 2023 elections went down and the picture it paints is dire. The music video has since gone viral sparking emotive reactions from different sides.
The artist said in an appearance on Arise tv today that the elections had been “heartbreaking to watch”. Mr. Falana noted the enthusiasm Nigerians had trooped to their polling units with, only for their hopes to be dashed.
He accused the INEC Chairman of mentally torturing Nigerians. He noted that the president-elect was declared in the dead of the night, an action which smacked of something nefarious.
When asked why he felt the need to speak up so much against the ruling party the artist said “ As Nigerians, we aren’t living meaningful lives.
I rather die and be remembered as someone who spoke out against injustice, than die from a heart disease cause Nigeria doesn’t have any good hospitals”
