1m Dollar: Johnny to Spend His Settlement on Charity

1m Dollar: Johnny Depp to Spend Amber Heard’s Settlement Money on Charity. After one year of trial, Amber heard has finally paid Johnny Depp 1 million dollar (AUD $1.4m) as compensatory money she owes him after she falsely defamed the actor.

“Pirate of Caribbean” actor Johnny Depp is donating all the settlement money from his divorce from actress Amber Heard to charity.

The former couple split after Heard filed a defamation suit against Johnny Depp.

Depp won the defamation lawsuit against Heard in June 2022. The jury also found out that Heard defamed him in a 2018 Washington op-ed, where she claimed that she was abused physically and emotionally.

Heard refused to admit to falsely accusing Depp of abuse while the couple was married as she did in a Washington op-ed piece, leading to Depp’s defamation suit.

” I have made no admission. This is not an act of concession. There are no restrictions or gags with respect to my moving forward.”
She penned to Instagram.

In a statement released by Depp’s attorney, he said, “The jury’s unanimous decision and the resulting judgement in Mr. Depp’s favour against Ms Heard remain fully in place ” he added that “The payment of $1 million, which Mr Depp is pledging and will (actually) donate to charities.”

The Hollywood star, Johnny Depp, selected five organisations to receive the settlement funds. He picked five organisations: the make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Marlon Brando’s Tetiaroa Society charity and the Amazonia Fund Alliance.
