LASU Deputy Bursar Slumps, Dies Inside Banking Hall

The sudden demise of Lagos State University’s (LASU) Deputy Bursar, Johnson Adesola Ademola, has been reported by Naija News. Ademola allegedly slumped while standing in a queue to withdraw N5,000 at a new generation bank on the campus on Monday, February 20 2023. He had been in the queue since 6 am but suddenly collapsed.

Witnesses recounted that Ademola was immediately rushed to the school’s hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The cause of death is still unknown, and an autopsy report will reveal more information.

Meanwhile, NewsedUP Reporter also gathered that a pregnant woman had died a few days earlier in Kaduna due to the scarcity of new Naira notes in banks. The couple who lived in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State, had gone to a hospital to deliver their child. However, the woman was rejected and passed away because they could not pay the required hospital deposit due to the shortage of Naira notes.

John Auta, the deceased’s husband, had gone to his bank to withdraw money but was told there was no cash. He searched for POS operators but found none since most had closed their business centres. This tragic incident highlights the urgent need to address the country’s scarcity of new Naira notes.
