Chrisland Internation School Shut Down by Lagos Government

A student of Chrisland International School reportedly died during the school inter-house sports at Agege stadium.

Lagos State Government has ordered the school shut down pending the investigation’s outcome to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of a pupil, Whitney Adeniran.

Gbenga Omotosho, the state Commissioner for Information, confirmed the development during a telephone conversation with our correspondent on Sunday. Also, the Commissioner of Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, has spoken with the dead child’s family to sympathise with them.

NewsedUP Reporter gathered that the school management claimed that Whitney slumped and died of cardiac arrest, but the pupil’s father, Michael, confirmed to BBC pidgin that his daughter was electrocuted.

According to BBC pidgin news, the father of the 12 years old girl who died during the school Inter-house sport event in Lagos said she was electrocuted. The man maintained that his daughter died from a naked wire from one cotton candy vendor machine. He said he has evidence that his child died of electrocution, not cardiac arrest, as claimed by the school.
