AGN Suspends Nollywood star over Drug Abuse

AGN suspends Nollywood star Jerry Williams over drug abuse. The Actors Guild of Nigeria has indefinitely suspended Jerry Williams following his involvement in illicit substances.

In a statement signed by the AGN President, Emeka Rollas stated that the organisation had been closely watching Jerry’s involvement in illegal drugs since last December until it was beyond control.

He said allowing Jerry to associate with other actors on set would endanger their lives. So he had to be suspended.

According to the National President, “The situation is about fellow actor’s safety”.

The statement reads:

“The Guild has been monitoring his involvement in illicit substances since December last year until it got out of hand, and as it is now, he cannot be allowed to associate with other performers on set due to danger.

“He should have been suspended before now, but we decided to allow him to undergo minor treatments, which he has defaulted over time. At it stands now, Jerry is a risk to himself and other actors who might be acting alongside him on set.

“We, therefore, have decided to suspend him indefinitely until he gets a clean bill of health from a medical practitioner or a professional that handles drugs abuse.’”
